The enemy loves to makes us feel inadequate. Because he wants us to feel defeated. But you, my dear, are destined to win. "But in all these things you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you." (Romans 8:37). If you feel called to homeschool, He will equip you. Obeying Him and trusting Him will bear fruit in your life, in your family, in your children. The enemy wants to steal that harvest. He will use whatever method he thinks will be most effective. If causing you to doubt yourself will pack the most punch, he will whisper in your ear all of your failings. BUT "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5) Hide God's Word in your heart. It is your sword (Ephesians 6:17). For "the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Let me put your mind at ease. This is what you need in order to homeschool:
1. Kids. Ok, you mentioned having some of these, so check.
2. Jesus. You have Him, too. Check.

K. You're good to go. :) Everything else you can figure out as you go. Really.

I highly recommend "Lies Homeschooling Moms Believe" by Todd Wilson. It actually applies to pretty much all women, and not just ones who homeschool.

I am so glad you replied. I wish I knew your name, munchkinmama08. I hope you come back to see this. :) I pray that God will show you who you truly are in Him. Did you know that He rejoices over you with singing? (Zephaniah 3:17). It's true. :)
Autumn Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12826392288383188180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1127253779447857635.post-22267915775567617552014-01-31T05:37:18.638-06:002014-01-31T05:37:18.638-06:00Firstly, thank you so much for writing this.
My ...Firstly, thank you so much for writing this.

My confession: I struggle daily with anxiety and self-doubt.

Honestly, I have been one of those mom's who is constantly looking at other SAHMs thinking 'Wow, they are superwomen! I could never have it all together like them.' And that way of thinking has plagued me for far too long. It has also made me terrified to homeschool my kids. I thought to do that you had to be organized and have tons of energy and a spotless house, and since my daughter is starting kindergarten this coming fall I have had so much anxiety over this. My hearts desire is to homeschool her... My biggest fear is not being good enough and her suffering from my short comings. So your post has really encouraged me... Your house looks a lot like mine and everything you wrote about not making time for the Word and prayer really hit me. I feel so often that I am going going going all day and God only gets the tired left overs at the end of the day, if that. But He deserves it all. I'm going to really try harder to give Him top priority in the future.
So again, thank you for your honesty. It touched me and my life and I appreciate it more than you know. munchkinmama08https://www.blogger.com/profile/03719207965100825506noreply@blogger.com
